Once an Athlete, Always an Athlete
- The Mindset of Excellence
Possibilities that aren't obvious yet.
Being an elite athlete shapes more than how you perform in your sport. It shapes how you think, respond to challenges, lead, and move through the world.
You’ve learned how to set ambitious goals, continuously improve, learn new skills, persevere through discomfort, overcome fear and failure, stay focused under pressure, trust yourself, and keep going when the outcome is uncertain.
Those qualities don't disappear when competitive sport ends.
My coaching helps elite athletes recognize the strengths, mindset, and leadership capabilities they developed through sport and bring them into what comes next.
That might mean preparing for life after college athletics, navigating a transition out of professional sport, finding your footing in the workplace, or helping an experienced professional who was once an elite athlete reconnect with the qualities that made them successful and reignite their spark.

Your Athlete Mindset Comes With You
My own transition out of competitive gymnastics profoundly shaped my career.
As a former NCAA gymnast and team captain at the University of Minnesota, I went from spending six to eight hours a day, five or more days a week training, lifting, cross-training, rehabilitating, and competing to starting my first corporate job as a business analyst at Target headquarters.
The job was an incredible launching pad for my career. But the transition was hard.
I had gone from constant movement, challenge, performance, recognition, and teamwork to spending nearly ten hours a day sitting in a cubicle. From being a highly visible athlete, where my performance mattered, and I knew exactly what I was working toward, to being one person within a much larger organization.
That shift was harder than I expected. It taught me something I wish I had understood earlier:
Finding the right next chapter isn't just about finding the right job. It's about understanding what you need to thrive.
For some athletes, that may mean building movement into the workday. For others, it may mean seeking variety, travel, collaboration, challenge, recognition, or a different pace. It may mean creating new routines or finding new ways to experience the sense of purpose and accomplishment that sport once provided.
- Mobilizing Your Strengths
Bring Your Athlete Self Into What's Next
I won’t tell you what career you should pursue or help you write your résumé.
Instead, I’ll help you uncover what makes you uniquely you, recognize the strengths, mindset, and ways of working you developed through sport, and discover how to carry them forward beyond your sport.
Because your athletic experience isn't something you leave behind.
It's part of what you bring with you.
Whether you’re preparing for life after college athletics, transitioning out of professional sport, or an experienced professional who was once an elite athlete and feels like you’ve lost touch with the spark that once drove you, my coaching can help you reconnect with the athlete within you and bring that mindset into what’s next.
